Father's Day is fast approaching, and like Mother's Day it's a great day to get our men something that they will enjoy. Are you looking for that special Father's day gift for the Dad that loves to do DIY's or should I say in my case might be wrangled into doing them. HEHE!
To help you celebrate, I've put together some ideas to help you in choosing that perfect gift.
FATHER'S DAY GIFT GUIDE FOR THE DIY DAD
Once Eric became a new Dad and started to do projects around the house, the gift I gave him was a place that he can organize and store all of his tools. This Craftsman 5 drawer Cabinet helps keep all his tools in one place. This one gift was the best gift I could give him, it's moved with us from house to house over the 19 years we've been married. Even if your main squeeze doesn't immediately find a desire to do projects, I think this gift by far is needed for all men.
Item 2 on the Father's Day Gift Guide
Next item on my gift guide is one that I think every DIYer needs. It was the first tool we bought and still use today. When you find that you want to make a cut of wood, instead of grabbing for a hand saw that probably would take your project longer to complete, The Miter Saw is a must have. I've included two choices. One for the beginner that needs something every so often as the need arises. The other option will help give the constant DIYer the ability to be more productive with his time through less cuts.
Item 3 on the Father's Day Gift Guide
This item is a must have. The table saw is used when cutting down big sheets of wood. If you've seen my lastest DIY project, our guest bathroom update, this tool was used to cut down the wainscot. Below I've included two options, the difference between the two comes down to accessories.
Item 4 on the Father's Day Gift Guide
A DIY project must have! I've used this tool many times. Hitachi KNT50AB Brad Nailer and Compressor Combo Kit. You will love having one of these in your tool kit. I used a similar one in my Kitchen backsplash update which you can see me here in this video.
Item 5 on the Father's Day Gift Guide
Ok, I know this one tool may not seem as important within a project but it does serve a purpose. Clamps help keep wood together as your making cuts, gluing or anything else that might acquire assistance. Believe it or not this tool will find it's way into a project at some point.
Item 6 on the Father's Day Gift Guide
This next tool is a must have for any person that wants to do even the smallest project, like hanging an item on the wall that requires a screw driver. I love having a cordless drill in my back pocket. I can't count how many times this has come off the shelf to be used when putting up curtain rods or inserting molly bolts into the wall for support. I highly recommend getting Dewalt DCD771C2 20V MAX Cordless Lithium-Ion 1/2 inch Compact Drill Driver Kit for any home owner.
Item 7 on the Father's Day Gift Guide
In addition to a cordless drill, you'll find this next item to be just as important. Drill bits are needed in cases when you need to pre-drill a hole into a wall or wood. I use the 5/8" drill bit many times within my projects. In fact, I just used it when putting up my Target shelves for the guest Bathroom and hanging curtain's hardware. You can find some examples here at my DIY curtain and rods.
Item 8 on the Father's Day Gift Guide
This last gift in my guide will be the tool that can make your sanding jobs easier than a sheet of sand paper. I've pulled this DEWALT DWE6423K 5" Variable Speed Random Orbit Sander out when I've stripped down a table or sanded my kitchen cabinets to get ready for paint. I believe this tool is up there on the top of the tools for any home owner. You never know when you might need this to come out of the closet or garage.
We've come to the end of my Father's Day Gift Guide. While many of these items may seem like your buying them for your man, secretly I've included them because I'm giving you the power too to take on those projects you've been dreaming about. Having the right tools makes any job easier. If you know me I love to tackle a project but I do like it to have my man right there with me as we do it together.
I'd love to know a tool you'd recommend for Father's Day. Comment below with your suggestions. Or better yet let me know what you got or are getting for the Dad in your life.
Thanks again for stopping by! I really enjoy doing these blog posts and I hope you do too.
See you next week!
You're one step closer to creating a welcoming home!
